Last seen in 2007, Jason Bourne is now living under the radar and off the grid, surviving as a bare knuckle fighter on the Greece-Albania border and scratching a living from winning these fights.  Meanwhile former associate Nicky Parsons is hacking the CIA’s systems from Iceland and downloading highly classified documents on black ops, including Treadstone and its latest incarnation .  Continue reading

10 Cloverfield Lane

10 Cloverfield Lane is an intense drama that covers a multitude of genres, including drama, thriller, comedy, horror and science fiction.  The film opens with a young woman, Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) contemplating ending a relationship.  She then leaves her engagement ring and keys in the apartment and drives in solitude down long and winding country roads.  The music is loud and almost overbearing with little natural background noise and with no words spoken.  Her ringing cell phone and fiance’s voice are the first real sounds heard.  Michelle has run away after a minor argument (a sure indication of an abused childhood).  Shortly after, the sudden loud noise of a car crash shocks the audience out of their reverie of a broken relationship and Michelle wakes up, handcuffed and in a basement – a drip attached to her arm and a splint on her knee. The Witch (2016)

The Witch takes place in 17th Century New England and follows the story of a Pilgrim family who have left their home in Northern England to set up life in the New World.  But they are asked to leave their new religious community, and they travel with their belongings loaded on to one cart, to a remote farmland on the edge of the woods.  Soon after their arrival, their crop fails and the family’s new born baby vanishes from the care of the oldest daughter, Thomasin.  From here on in, the family begins to deteriorate as accusations of witchcraft, religious obsession and grief overtake their lives.  Continue reading
